#SaveOurVenues

Published on: May 5, 2020

We are part of the Music Venue Trust nationwide fundraising campaign #SaveOurVenues instigated in response to the continued economic threat to over 500 grassroots music venues throughout the UK.

We know that venues will be further down the list of places that will be able to reopen after the lockdown period and our future is uncertain. We also know that shared spaces like the Black Box will play a key role in helping us as a society recover from the Coronavirus crisis.

We are grateful to our funding partners for their committed support but as a non-profit that relies heavily on self-generated income, there is a shortfall that we need to raise in order to be able to pay our standing costs and reopen safely.

We are appealing to artists that have performed in the venue over the last 14 years, our fans, followers, the wider music & cultural industry, to help promote and share our campaign so that we can reach our target ❤️

We stand in solidarity with Voodoo Belfast, The American Bar, The 343 and all the other grassroots and independent venues here and beyond that are not only the lifeblood of the music industry but create community, provide vital platforms for artist & musicians and are so important to the fabric of our cities.
