We have two spaces available to hire. Choose between the Green Room bar or the Main Black Box live venue space for your next event, festival, live music, comedy gigs, conference, training sessions, AGM and much, much more.

Our main live room is essentially a blank canvas and perfect for any type of event. With a full PA, stage lighting, additional audio/visual equipment and bar it is suitable for live music gigs, art events, readings,, film screenings, theatre and corporate events; its flexibility is why it remains such a popular venue. Events with music may be liable to PRS (Performing Rights Society) fees, currently 4% of box office.

Main venue; 240 standing, 180 theatre rows, 160 cabaret (round table with four chairs)
Main venue Evening room hire rates
Main venue evening room hire rates (5pm-11.30pm):
Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday = £200+VAT*
Thursday & Sunday = £240+VAT*
Friday & Saturday = £300+VAT*
Screen and projector hire = £35+VAT
*This does not include a sound engineer – we have a list of recommended freelance engineer’s who are permitted to use the system. Current rates are £150+VAT per event.
Black Box can sell tickets to your event online– there is a 12.5% service charge for this.
Please note no sound checks before 5pm as we have offices above the main venue, Monday to Friday.
Please note The Black Box operates with a Theatre Licence which means our bar is only open until 11 pm, with the venue clear 30 mins following.
Please note we no longer hire the venue out for wedding receptions.
Tickets
We provide options for clients hiring the venue. The Black Box can sell tickets to your event online using our Ticketsolve ticketing platform – there is a 12.5% service charge for this, or you can choose to use your own ticketing provider.

We are a step-free accessible venue will all events spaces, facilities and dressing room on ground level. We have accessible bathrooms and push button automated doors. Further information can be found on the Accessibility Page of our website.

The smaller Green Room space boasts an intimate and friendly atmosphere, making it an ideal stage for acoustic, spoken word, comedy gigs, training sessions and workshops alike. The room contains a small PA. two toilets, screen & projector and bar facilities.

Greem Room bar evening hire rates
GREEN ROOM Green Room evening hire is available Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings 5 pm – 11.30 pm) Hire is £120+VAT*
