Tickets Refunds, Cancellations & Rescheduled Events
The Black Box will only refund a ticket if an event has been cancelled. Where an event is rescheduled tickets purchased will automatically be transferred to the new date, Ticketholders will be notified of the new date and transfer of tickets via email. Ticketholders will also be offered the option of a gift voucher for the face value of the ticket to be used for upcoming shows sold through the Black Box Ticketsolve platform. In instances where refunds are applicable ticketholders have 10 days working days to request refunds. Refund options will be made clear via email communication following changes to events.
CANCELLED EVENTS & REFUNDS
We will directly contact the named booker for any event that is cancelled. Please ensure we have the most up-to-date contact information for you. For cancelled events, we offer the option of a full refund* (within 10 working days), or gift voucher, or to donate your ticket value to support the future work of The Black Box and our Outreach & Engagement projects for any by people with learning disabilities and or autism. If you have requested a refund, and not heard from us within 10 days, please get in touch.
Refunds are made in accordance with the original payment method. As soon as the refund has been processed, you will receive an automated email to confirm the ticket(s) being returned, the refund amount, and the refund method.
For orders paid with card
Our refund confirmation emails only hold the last four digits of the card used at the time of payment – this is to help you identify the account to expect the refund. Even if you have had a new card issued since, you can be confident that the refund will still land in the same account. Refunds can take between three and five working days to appear on a bank statement, so please don’t panic if you can’t trace it right away. If you have paid for tickets using an account that you can no longer access – please contact the box office and we will arrange an alternative refund method.
For orders paid with cash
If you purchased tickets using cash, a member of the sales team will contact you to collect details to refund your account using BACs (electronic bank transfer). BACs refunds will take longer to process, due to the manual nature of this refund method.
For orders paid with a gift voucher
Ticket purchases using a gift voucher will qualify for a new gift voucher to be issued. This will be emailed to you in the form of a new voucher code, with a two-year validity from the date of issue.
The Box Office will automatically exchange your tickets across to the new schedule. You will receive an email to confirm this – and tickets will be valid for the new date.
OTHER EVENT INFORMATION
Tickets are sold with limited unreserved seating – you are not guaranteed a seat and therefore you may have to stand.
The Black Box reserves the right to refuse admittance to any patron, including unaccompanied minors. Please note no under 18s are permitted in the venue after 8pm. Under 18s are only permitted in the venue before 8pm when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The Black Box does not hire out the venue for wedding receptions.
The management reserves the right to refuse admission, and to request any ticket holder/patron/promoter to leave our buildings at any time. For example, if a ticket holder, attendee or promoter appears to be under the influence of drink and/or drugs and/or is acting aggressively, carrying offensive weapons or illegal substances, the ticket holder may be refused admission.
You MUST have permission to use images for promotion. Please check the booking form for more details. By sending images for promotion you confirm that you are liable for any fines or licence fees that might arise from the use of images that are subject to copyright.
Our online Box Office is managed using Ticketsolve, and payments are processed through Realex. All orders – including those made by telephone or in person – will be processed through these systems. You have the right to opt out of any communications, or to ask that your details be removed from any or all of our databases, at any time – please click the link in any email, call us, or email [email protected] to update your preferences.
Realex Payments are a highly trusted online payment card processor, accredited with the Account Information Security certification by VISA and compliant with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard Version 3.22, the highest level of compliance. We do not store your bank details on our system.
Cookies are necessary to the process of booking your tickets through our website, using the Ticketsolve system, however they are only temporary. Other temporary cookies present on our website are there to ensure that website content is displayed correctly, and will disappear when your user session has ended. We cannot be responsible for cookies relating to third-party features such as Facebook, Twitter, Google etc.

The details which you provide about yourself and any information which identifies you such as your name, address, email address, telephone number, country of residence and credit and debit card details (“Personal Information”) will only be retained by us if you provide this information when using one of the services available on our website, such as subscribing to one of our email lists or when purchasing tickets.
2. Personal Information will be held on our system and used for operational purposes such as the processing of bookings and orders in connection with our on-line ticket and book ordering services and for mailing list subscriptions. In order to process a transaction, your Personal Information and card details may be passed to third party service providers. Card details will only be used for the purpose of handling an individual transaction.
3. If you would like to revise the information provided to us at any time, or feel what we currently have on record is incorrect, you may update the information by e-mailing [email protected]
4. You have the right to obtain from us an electronic or paper copy of all Personal Information concerning yourself by e-mailing [email protected] or writing to Black Box, 18-22 Hill Street, Belfast, BT1 2LA. If you decide not to use our services any further and notify us either in writing or by email as mentioned above, we shall destroy any retained Personal Information.
Disclosure of information
The transmission of information over the internet is not completely secure. We will do our best to protect your personal data, but we cannot guarantee the security of the data transmitted to this site and any transmission is at your own risk. Please be aware that The Black Box may be obliged to give information to the relevant authorities if required to by law, in which case we will comply with judicial proceedings.
