about

We’re back with a a bang!

St Patricks day 2024 See’s The Skallions teaming up with the mighty NI Soul Troop to bring you what’s possibly the best show of the year so far. Peeping their heads out for a rare and exciting appearance at The Black Box the Soul Troop will be bringing a touch of style and class to the evening.

With our last few St Patricks day antics at The Black Box going down a treat we’ve decided to once again throw caution to  the wind and have ourselves a party!

NI Soul Troop:

Performing since 2007, NI Soul Troop have carved out a cult following in their home city of Belfast as a unique party band and a great night out. The Troop have played pubs, clubs, raves and festivals all over Ireland, also playing as support for acts like Craig Charles, The Brand New Heavies, Smoove & Turrell and Bentley Rhythm Ace. They released a number of EPs and a full studio album “The Road” back in 2017.

After a few years hiatus the band reformed in 2022 with some new members joining and they are ready to get people dancing again. Some interesting covers have also been added into the mix including souled up versions of songs by Rage Against the Machine, The Band and The Talking Heads, combined with their already expansive set of original material.

The Skallions:

7-piece ska hallions hailing from Belfast. All out party vibes with banging tunes and a wee bit of choreographed craic for good measures.

Take some high energy dancing, melodic ska then some throw funky reggae grooves into the pot and you’ve got a recipe for skankin’ with The Skallions. Back after a short break we’ve been bursting to get back into the full swing of things and what better way than with one of Belfast’s musical powerhouses “NI Soul Troop” on board.

We might be a touch early with the festivities this year but we think a Saturday party is always better than a Sunday when there’s hangovers involved!! With both bands set to raise the bar with the music and banter we expect this one to get sufficiently messy.
