*important announcement*Hello everyone. We’re SO excited about bringing you the 14th Annual Outburst Queer Arts Festival starting this weekend.
Our team and artists have been working flat out rehearsing, producing and planning, which makes it all the sadder for us to announce that we will not be going ahead with live events with audiences at the Black Box.
In light of the lack of leadership at Stormont in reviewing Covid restrictions, we have looked at our options based on the sound medical and scientific information available. Black Box and Outburst agree that the health and safety of our artists, teams and communities come first.
All our live artists this year are amazing and have worked so hard on developing new commissions through a very difficult time. We are so honoured to work with them. The shows will still happen for live audiences when that is possible.
For now, we will be filming the shows as live in their original slots without an audience and the shows will be available to watch online over the festival as they are ready to go.
Tickets for video events will be available from tomorrow. Stay tuned and we will share when those are good to go.
If you have already bought a ticket for an in-person event, please hold tight for now and Kathy will be in touch with you by email with your options.
But….OUTBURST 2020 is *STILL HAPPENING*!! with live on-street events (including Rosa Tralee) , pre-recorded talks and events and lots of interactive activity. We’ll be updating events today on the website, so please bear with us while we manage all the changes.
You are all amazing and we miss your faces so much. We hope to see you soon.
We deserve better weather, better respect for our arts and entertainment industries and a much better government.
