The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living And Became Mixed Up Zombies
29 March, 2024 @5:00pm Free, The Green RoomMoon Base Projects- An update
By The Black BoxAs many of you know our lovely creating connections group moved into 65-67 Royal Avenue 16 months ago and flourished! Moon Base was a pilot project that allowed more events and activities for and by adults with learning disabilities to happen in a space that they made home. With walking groups, music sessions, films screenings, book clubs and so much more!
On average; 64 Black Moon Walks, 128 hours of ‘Creating Connections’, 64 ‘Moon Music Sessions’ and over 20 live performances and festival appearances and last but not least over 60 ‘Feel Free Friday’s’! Not to mention the Book Club, Global Discussion group, Focus groups, working with PLACE, PS2 and The University of Atypical to name but a few!
Moon Base space has now closed but the activity continues has moved back into The Black Box. For now, the groups will be concentrating on running ‘Creating Connections’ on a Tuesday and ‘Moon Music’ on Thursdays under the name of ‘Moon Base Projects’
We want to thank the Paul Hamlyn Foundation for the ‘Explore and Test’ funding to make this project happen and give the group the opportunity to expand their creativity and get projects and activities that they wanted
Thank you to our amazing staff and volunteers and everyone that has called into Moon Base and collaborated with us over the last 16 months!
These activities are part of the wider programme that we have within the venue like Black Moon, Black Moon Film Club and Mini Moon, which you can find out more details here-
