Currently, 12 of the top 30 highest-grossing films are superhero movies, particularly Marvel hits like Avengers: Endgame. TV shows like The Boys on Amazon Prime and Marvel series on Disney+ are equally popular.
But how realistic are the superpowers we see on screen? Using clips from films and shows, Prof. Francis Keenan of Queen’s University Belfast explores the science behind abilities like flight and super-strength. He’ll also examine heroes without powers, such as Batman and Black Widow, and discuss real-life superheroes.
