The Black Box Presents Safe & Sound: VENUS RISING a celebration for International Women’s Day 2026
Sunday 8th March | Black Box | Doors 7pm | Show 7:30-9:30pm | £10
Venus Rising is a new concept founded by Claire Hall (Venus Dupree) which spotlights artists who are either on the rise or already blazing bright with innovation, rawness, and an unwavering dedication to the integrity of their craft.
For our IWD26 edition we’re celebrating with three extraordinary women shaping the sound of contemporary Irish music:
Pinsleep
Pinsleep is a solo, art-pop act by an acclaimed, Belfast-based violinist, singer and producer Aga Olek. Through the use of layered violin, guitar effects, voice and electronics Pinsleep creates soundscapes inspired by the sci fi literature and the inner cosmos.
Ava Brogan
Multi-instrumentalist and producer Ava Brogan has unlocked the portal to hyper-folk and pagan pop, with her signature guttural bass, hypnotic harping, and glimmering vocals. Flooding the senses with shimmering playfulness, her music holds the spirit of ancient Ireland and modern camp culture. Be careful or this bimbo pagan princess will lure you into the fairy realm with her eccentric avant-pop sound and mystifying energy.
Eve Belle
Eve Belle is a singer, songwriter and chronicler of sorrows from deepest Donegal. Her songs and stories are imbued with an uncommon world-weariness seldom found in writers of such tender years. In Eve Belle’s songs, the brass tacks prick skin and draw blood.
