Phoenix Law, in Celebration of Refugee Week 2026, is hosting a screening of award-winning film Everybody to Kenmure Street. This will be followed by a Q&A with prominent Scottish lawyer Aamer Anwar who appears in the film.
The theme of Refugee Week is Courage. There is no better example of courage than peaceful civil resistance than to protect your neighbours from unlawful state enforcement. The film documents a significant event in May 2021, when a UK Home Office dawn raid triggers one of the most spontaneous and successful acts of civil resistance in recent memory. In Pollokshields, Scotland’s most diverse neighbourhood, hundreds of residents rush to the streets to stop the deportation of their neighbours.
£10 per ticket and £6 concession. Pricing covers the cost of venue hire and all excess will be donated to Doctors Without Borders. A film by Conic Films. Directed by Felipe Bustos Sierra.
