Near, far, wherever you are, join us in the Black Box for Outburst’s cathartic closing ritual, in collaboration with Array Collective for a wild, sea-soaked night of performance, QUEEREOKE and late night dancing with music from DJ Katie.eem.

Selkies can sometimes be seen dancing together on the shore in their human form. In the water, these Selkies look like seals, but to come ashore they must first shed their seal skin or tail. If that skin is taken, the Selkie is trapped as a human and can never return to the sea until it is found. 

As we join the merry dance of neo-capitalism, deep crevices form in our sense of community and self. Like the Selkies we are trying to steal back our social skin, to reclaim our sense of belonging from the tide of digital sea-veillance and the endless alienated grind.

Take them all back.

Come dressed in your queerest sea-themed protest apparel. Deep-sea digital disguises and anti-seaveillance face dazzle encouraged. Urchins of the deep; sirens of the streets; pearls of the proletariat; everyone is welcome!
