Green Room residents Marion Hawkes and Conor Schmutz go b2b Friday 17 Feb for a night of seamless selecting from two of Belfast’s most versatile and respected DJs. Expect a bit of mayhem too.
Free in. 7-11pm Friday 17 Feb.
With over two decades of collecting and obsessing over music, Belfast native Marion Hawkes’ sets are known for their genre and era hopping eclecticism both live and on the airwaves for the likes of Dublin Digital Radio, NTS, Melodic Distraction & Neighbourhood.
The DJ has played all over the UK & Ireland, from Sub Club, Soup Kitchen, La Cheetah to Meraki and helped push and maintain the local underground electronic scene at home – notably with female focused duo Girl, Queer club night Ponyhawke, and opening record store Sound Advice Belfast at the end of 2021.
As a party-thrower, Schmutz is responsible for some of the bigger names coming to small Belfast clubs, hosting night that are all about the music with an authentic no-photo vibe. The DJ is a regular at The Telegraph Building warming up for the likes of VTSS. The DJ is known for his versatility, with his sets spanning psych rock to soulful hip hip beats and techno, bringing high energy even when the tracks are downtempo (Conor has one setting).
