Maria Doyle Kennedy is an acclaimed singer and actor. She has spent 5 years wandering the globe with her family preparing songs for the new album and performing constantly as well as filming cult TV show Orphan Black. Her last album was released in October on her own label Mermaid Records.
Maria collaborated with Feist & Jarvis Cocker on a video for the song *Century* from Feist’s new album. The project was a crazy mash-up of Westside story and Thriller and featured Maria & Feist as dance-off gang leaders….
In May 2014 Maria featured on the Paul Noonan album *Printer Clips* with Joan As Policewoman and Martha Wainwright amongst others.
Recent acting credits include *Orphan Black*, *The Conjuring 2* and *Sing Street*.
Maria’s previous album *Sing* released in 2012 featured duets with Damien Rice, Paul Brady and John Prine. Ireland’s Leading music mag Hot Press described Sing as *Maria’s Masterpiece*.
Maria writes and performs with husband Kieran Kennedy and along with the new album “Maria Doyle Kennedy” they have also completed their first short film *A Different Kind Of Day* written and directed by Maria, produced and scored by Kieran.
Maria Doyle Kennedy one of Ireland’s most gifted and versatile female artists and has forged a name and held her own in diverse arenas from film and TV to her career as a singer-songwriter. She has spent the best part of 20 years performing live all over the world to audiences ranging from the many thousands who have enjoyed her show at festivals including Glastonbury, Oxegen, Cambridge Folk Festival, and recently TradFest in Dublin to the more intimate theatre concerts.
