The Giulia Marro trio is led by Northern Irish clarinet player and vocalist Giulia Marro and features Tom Ward on piano and Ben Love on double bass. This trio of Birmingham based musicians came together 3 years ago, due to their shared passion of music from the 1920’s – 1940’s.
Giulia Marro, a rising star on the UK jazz scene, has led bands across the West Midlands and Northern Ireland in popular jazz venues and captivates audiences with her warm vibrato filled tone, inspired by clarinet greats Barney Bigard and Artie Shaw.
During this performance she will be joined by two of Birmingham’s best rhythm section players, Ben Love and Tom Ward, both virtuosic players who have performed as side men and band leaders across the UK.
The trio will play original compositions and their own arrangements of tunes from the swing era.
