As part of the Comedy Lab season at the Black Box and the Black Box Academy, join comedy producer, promoter and performer Graeme Watson for an intensive 5-day stand-up comedy workshop, which will take you from jotting raw ideas to a first stand-up set performed in front of a real live audience on Saturday 21 July. With a practical focus the outset, this popular course will provide you with the confidence, skills and knowledge to get started in stand-up comedy within a week, with additional input and feedback from guest comedians and comedy promoters.
About the tutor Graeme Watson is one of Belfast’s pioneering comedy producers and promoters, and has been instrumental in developing new acts as writers and performers since 2008. Cutting his teeth as a promoter and performer by running an open mic night at the Pavilion Bar, Graeme has been producing original live comedy formats at the Black Box since 2010, was a co-founder and programmer of the Belfast Comedy Festival, and is the curator of the annual Comedy Lab summer season in the Cathedral Quarter each July. He also worked with BBC Radio Ulster to develop the award-winning Live at the Sunflower stand-up show, which finished its second series in January 2018.
