about

You do not want to go wake up in the same old bed and eat breakfast in the same old kitchen. Every room in you house is the same old room, because you have lived there too long, why not move into the black box green room for the night? Where is that? Two weeks away, that’s where. There will be music and singing and walking through doors by Taupe, Eve Belle, Joel Harkin and AOIBHA.

Taupe’s atmospheric folk and midwestern emo influences weave together in a clanging symphony of melodies and melancholic lyrics. The band is influenced by Californian nature and the music of George Harrison, David Bazan, Big Thief and Twain.

Eve Belle is a bilingual singer-songwriter from Donegal, now based in Belfast. Her debut album ‘In Between Moments’ received critical acclaim in 2020. Known for her heartfelt lyrics and emotive style, she draws inspiration from artists like Julien Baker and Phoebe Bridgers. Eve has supported acts like Hozier and Frightened Rabbit and is part of the Irish Women in Harmony collective. Her latest EP, ‘Sharp Relief,’ was praised for its lyrical depth. She’s currently working on new music set for release in summer 2024.

Joel Harkin is a singer of songs and a spinner of yarns from Donegal. His 2020 album Never Happy was shortlisted for the NI Music Prize, which is more than Van Morrison can say, a win in and of itself. Joel Harkin lies awake at night, terrified at the prospect of the looming abyss. He channels these fears into his haunting songs. But don’t let that put you off. He is known for the contrast between his music and the whimsical, surrealist and very funny chatting he does as he tunes his guitar.

AOIBHA is an Irish indie-folk-pop artist from Belfast. Influenced by artists like Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones and Billie Eilish, AOIBHA writes with a raw vulnerability that translates into soft, haunting melodies and poignant lyrics.
