Black Box presents A Cross Community Christmas, coming together at this time of year to celebrate the great and good, the weird and surreal of our protestant and catholic bretheren.

In the orange corner, Fun Protestants a firebrand punk techno duo guaranteed to get even the most die hard republicans marching along to their ferocious bangers. Sounds like an alternative universe Father Ted meets tiesto.

In the Green corner, Shamrock Showband, Irelands trippiest country duo featuring Jamie Bishop and Conor McAuley of Castleblayney and Dundalk fame. Their live shows incorporate a mixture of sultry vocals, country fiddle, lush pedal steel, and sampling that creates an exciting pastiche of the glamorous Showband era. Shamrock Showband have been described as “a reawakening of the legacy of country music in Ireland” and “certainly jive-able”.

And trying to hold it all together or inflame tensions even further are Cloakroom Q, an Irish alt rock band blending classic rock with experimental noise. They play a range of slow somber introspective ballads to high energy rock along with goofy on stage personas. Influences include: Rocky, Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV, Rocky V, Rocky Balboa, Creed, Creed II & Creed III

This promises to be a spooftacular gegcentric hoe down for the ages.
