Culture Night 2020
By The Black BoxCulture Night Belfast is set to go ahead with an online celebration of the arts that will include a rich mix of music, film, performance and much more on Friday 18th September
Coming to you from Hill Street, Belfast we present a night of AMAZING performances! Read on to see the line-up and check out CNB website to see what else they have in store and get all the details about tuning in- https://www.culturenightbelfast.com/cnb-online-2020-events/
We are delighted to present a programme for Culture Night online and we have selected performers that we are sure you will enjoy! Our programme features Susie Blue, Sinead O’Donnell and Tenx9 filmed live at the venue as well as a ‘lockdown rock-down’ from our Moon Base Projects.
Using our online space Moon Base have put together a Culture Night Moon Music Festival. It features a performance of Three Little Moon Base Birds in collaboration with The Coffee House Project, New Jersey, a relaxation session with Blue Haze soundscape, an original track written by Rowan – one of our project volunteers. The Festival film comes to a close with the groups first music video, created during lockdown, for the track Red Ribbon, written and performed byMoon Music.
First up from the venue, back in the Green Room where it all began for them before they went on to reach international fame, we have tenx9! tenx9 is a storytelling night that has been running at the BB for the last nine years, we have a long and beautiful history together.
For Culture Night we have a mini tenx9 featuring three short stories. If you want to join tenx9 they are running on Zoom at the moment and you can find out further details on their website tenx9.com.
tenx9 as always is free but if you want to support the work they do you can do so through their Patreon.
We are thrilled to have a live performance action created especially for the evening from artist Sinéad O’Donnell.
Sinead has worked in performance, installation, site and time-based art for the past 20 years. Through her work Sinead explores themes of identity, borders and barriers. As well as having many other areas of exploration, her work has an ongoing interest in equality, the co-existence of other women and systems of kinship.

Ending the night, we are delighted to have a live performance from Susie Blue – Originally hailing from Derry, and specialising in her unique brand of heart-on-sleeve Queer indie-pop, Susie’s songs are hard hitting, well written and catchy as hell! Backed by a full band her live shows are energetic, unapologetic and will keep you on your feet, as you’ll soon see!!
The latest release from Susie Blue, the EP Boys Boys Boys is out in October.
We hope you enjoy the evening, Happy Culture Night!
