Saru Sounds (DJ Set)
Jun 30 @ 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Following their Green Room debut for Brilliant Corners Festival 22, Saru Sounds AKA old school friends Philip Arneill and Michael Staley return to play an eclectic mix of old meets new, taking you on a tangential journey of  spiritual jazz, deep grooves and soulful vibes in this four-month residency.

Born and raised in Belfast, Philip Arneill has returned to Ireland after 30 years living, working and travelling overseas. He DJed first in Scotland, was active in the swing and Lindyhop scene in Tokyo, and more recently spun an eclectic mix of tunes with Dublin Record Club before the world went mad, and played a show at the NeighbourhoodBelfast radio popup in 2021.

Michael Staley curates the film programme at the best cinema in the world, Queen’s Film Theatre. He DJed as one half of Good Soop, and is the resident DJ for the themed ‘Seamus Heaney Centre Presents…’ nights at the Crescent Arts Centre in Belfast. His star sign is Taurus.

Catch them from 7pm-11pm on May 14, June 30, July 30 & Aug 20. Free admission. 18+
