In this workshop, the Musicians’ Union will facilitate a practical look at live sound setup, lighting and production basics, dos and don’ts and what is expected from musicians from a production perspective.

This immersive showcase event will feature audio works created by participants from the NEO NEO Sound & Vision course, alongside guest performers. During the course participants have worked in audio recording, DJing and beat-making to create original soundscapes in response to a visual brief from artist Helena Hamilton.

Genesis is also a beauty queen, with over 16 crowns to her name. So how does Genesis use her success to protect and empower young women, is it a contradiction to promote the unrealistic expectations of beauty competitions or a useful tool for engagement?
This year’s Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival Artist in Residence, DANI, will launch her new single ‘The Mother Within’ with a full band as part of the Women’s Work Festival. DANI recorded ‘The Mother Within’ during the ‘Our Future Roots’ residency programme with Indonesian percussionists KunoKini in August 2018 at Half Bap Studios. Expect special guests and tales from her experiences in Palestine and Indonesia rooted firmly in the context of Irish folk music.
