Exhibition- Marcus Patton-Utopia Dystopia
Sep 6 @ 6:00 pm – Sep 29 @ 11:30 pm

Marcus Patton’s work ranges from screenprints to watercolours and cartoons, often depicting buildings which he depicts with an architect’s knowledge, an artist’s sympathy or a cartoonist’s barb – and sometimes all three at once. This exhibition should provide a reflection on the European Heritage Open Days and the current state of town planning in Northern Ireland.

Exhibition-White Medicine – Laura Gray
Oct 4 @ 6:00 pm – Oct 28 @ 6:00 pm

White Medicine

‘White Medicine’ is a series of paintings by Laura Gray exploring the physical and emotional connection an artist has with contact on canvas – the idea of becoming lost in the act of painting and allowing automatism to turn otherwise incoherent thoughts into something tangible. She uses inks and dyes to enable each piece to take on an organic life of its own, weaving recognisable form and structure out of the chaos of thought through fluid movement.

Real Sketchy
Oct 4 @ 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Since November 2012 Seedhead Arts has been running and developing Real Sketchy, a open live sketching event taking place in a bar environment. Over the years it’s developed from something that was largely populated by artists to being somewhere that anyone can have a wee sketch and a laugh over a few pints.

Although inspired by the spirit of Street Art, we’re really interested in the cross-pollenisation of different disciplines like comic, illustration, design, etc and how this plays out in a live environment, in a crowd of people with a wide range of skills and backgrounds. Plus beer. And music.

Thanks to sponsorship from Ink Monkey in North Street we are now able to provide pens, pencils and paper for everyone.
