BARRY HILTON: ‘UNSCRIPTED’
Jul 7 @ 7:00 pm

SOUTH AFRICA’S FAVOURITE COUSIN AND COMEDIAN PERFORMING IN THE UK THIS JUNE!

After an excruciating Covid-fuelled wait, comedy is returning to stages across the world in full force.

“When we needed it most, laughter was in short supply and I can’t wait to make up for lost time!” says South African comedy legend Barry Hilton who is bringing his ultra-funny UNSCRIPTED comedy show to venues across Africa and abroad with great gusto.

Whether you’re a die-hard Barry Hilton fan or you’ve never been to a comedy show before, be sure to catch this award-winning comedy icon in action at his hilarious best.

“I’ve really missed performing in person to a live audience,” says Barry. “Performing in my lounge via camera to people I couldn’t see was really awkward for me. But that doesn’t mean I wasn’t busy.”

“During lockdown I kept busy (and the wolf from the door) by turning my comedic talents to other projects. I launched Cousin Approved, a product and service video review offering whereby I make short, honest, videos with a comedic twist for companies to use on their social media platforms. I also continued to develop my www.mycousin.co.za online store and enjoyed making a gazillion personalised video messages for people around the country and in fact the world, via the MyFanPark platform. But what I’m most proud of, is the online course I produced called Talk Funny which shows people how to inject their own personalised humour into their everyday interactions; check it out at talkfunny.co.za

Paul Mone – Elected
Aug 5 @ 7:30 pm

Northern-Irish life can be awkward at the best of times. But with airwaves saturated by The Nolan Show, the DUP, and the NI Protocol, political cringe is at an all-time high. But all is not lost!

Mixing puppetry, storytelling, and some good old fashioned jokes, Paul Mone intends to make sense of the post-Brexit years. Expect a fair amount of DUP bashing, with a few celebrity cameos and moments of extreme awkwardness along the way.

Support on the night comes from local comics Luke McGibbon, Laura Conlon, and Leo Lardie.

Deirdre O’Kane – Demented
Sep 10 @ 7:00 pm

The last few years have been something of a whirlwind for Deirdre O’Kane. A co-founder of Comic Relief in Ireland, she fronted the critically and audience acclaimed RTÉ Does Comic Relief. She recently fronted her own talk show – Deirdre O’Kane Talks Funny – in the primetime Saturday night slot on RTÉ One and debuted a brand new standup comedy series, The Deirdre O’Kane Show, with Sky Comedy.

Deirdre also appeared as a judge alongside Boy George, Aston Merrygold and Vogue Williams on the new Fox-developed talent show, The Big Deal, for Virgin Media Television. She is also known as the voice of smash-hit Gogglebox (Virgin Media) which returned for a seventh season in late 2021. In recent years she has hosted the revamped IFTA Film & Drama Awards (for RTÉ and Virgin Media), and reached the finals of the national broadcaster’s fan-favourite Dancing with the Stars.

One of Ireland’s favourite comedians, Deirdre never strays too far from her live stand-up roots; the new show, Demented, a box-fresh hour of side splitting laughs, is touring Ireland and the UK throughout 2022.

Dirtbirds’ #NOFILTERS
Nov 12 @ 7:00 pm

In a world where women are expected to have the patience of mother Teresa, the arse of Jennifer Lopez, the social media profile of Kim Kardashian and the BMI of Elle McPherson the pressure is relentless. Dirtbirds the comedy duo and internet sensation present their hilarious new show ‘No Filters’ which takes a close look at the barrage of bullshit we are subjected to on a daily basis and reminds us that despite what we’re told there is NO SUCH THING AS PERFECT… (except maybe Jamie Dornan’s arse in Fifty Shades Darker.)

So if you need answers to questions like:

How do I have confidence when I feel lower than a snake’s arse?

How do I learn to love my muffin top?

When the kids wreck my head how do I stop myself from selling them on Done Deal?

…then this is definitely the show for you. (Perfect women not allowed in.)

“Their comedy is based on observing normal-life situations and turning them into

very intelligent quips, sketches and stories.” The Independent

“Sinead and Sue identify a gap in comedy that women can relate to, they are passionate mothers themselves and have first- hand experience of life’s challenges.” The Times
