Terry Conlon is a full-time touring musician from the small village of Cullyhanna in Co Armagh. On September 2nd, he will officially launch his debut solo album ‘HOMEGROWN’ in the Black Box Theatre, Belfast.
The album was recorded in Cellar Club Studios in Forkhill, Co Armagh alongside the rest of the album tracks. Even though Terry spends most of the year touring the world as a musician – as a solo player and as part of Dánta on cruise ships off Florida, the Caribbean, Mexico and more, Terry returned home (a recurring theme on the album) to record with renowned musician and producer Dave Molloy. Recordings began in April last year and the resulting album is brimming with superior, richly textured, instantly-memorable pop/folk songs from this young musician. Terry Conlon is a new name to many – on the strength of this debut album that won’t be for long!
Terry continues to gig internationally with recent shows in New Jersey and across America and a highly successful 2-month stint in London, playing with Dánta. The Irish folk/traditional side of Terry’s music have also brought him to Co. Wicklow of late, playing and recording with Kevin Conneff of The Chieftains, and his songs have gained him supports with Declan O’Rourke. He has already received support from BBC Radio Ulster. Upcoming concerts will take the young Armagh man to the north and south of Ireland, London, Bulgaria and back to the States.
A memorable night not to be missed lays in store, were Terry will be joined on stage by his full band of extraordinary musicians.
