6-8pm Girls Allowed & Bounce Breakthroughs

Girls Allowed is a Derry based project that encourages and introduces young women into the world of DJ performance and music production.

Lucy McLaughlin started dh’ing in school from year 9 after getting involved with Bounce Culture’s dj sessions for “One Big Day” Thornhill College’s take on Radio 1’s One Big Weekend. Lucy was the first student to use decks as an instrument for her GCSE Music exam and continues to delve into her catalogue of deep house, broken beat and techno treats.

Eire Dunne’s fierce appetite for music has only grown since her first lessons in year 8. In our eyes and ears, her tune selection can’t be argued with after putting us onto “Eye Light” by Crackazat which hasn’t been off our decks since last year.

Bounce Breakthrough’s shines the light on upcoming dj’s and producers who started out with us as part of our schools and youth programmes. We’re proud to say many have continued connecting with their inner rhythm, studying music business at university, working in the music industry or just producing and playing out for the love it. This young man is no different

Jordan Villa began dj’ing with Bounce from 13 years of age, he has gone onto support the likes of Boddika and Francesco Tristano for Celtronic. Expect anything from broken house to immersive techno.

Line up for the rest of the evening (over 18 only)

8-9pm – First Time DJ’s

First Time DJ’s is about creating a platform for debut DJ’s share their passion for music. We are believers of music taste being more important than dj’ing technique. One is nothing without the other! We’ll leave you to debate which is more important! Join us for lively back to back sets from the tastemakers acutely unaware they were tastemakers!

Pleasure Belle – Coffee and cake brought us into contact with this selector. Constant conversations over new artists and past music masters established common ground and we had to ask her to pick a few favourites to share at Neo Neo.

SV5 – We’ve heard her immaculate taste in music over a number of coffee’s in the Belfast area. Wondering from Thundercat to Chinese Man. Not afraid to ramp up the tempo, SV’s selection caught our ear. We’re pretty sure you’ll agree

9pm – 1am Fears // TONN Recordings.

Neo Neo is a live performance series bringing together the country’s most innovative electronic musicians and contemporary artists. Each unique event features live music and visuals, creating an immersive multi-sensory experience.
