Interchange: Unheard voices, heard

a season of film and discussion curated by the Black Box

My Feral Heart (2016) (dir. Jane Gull) showcases an extraordinary central performance by Steven Brandon as Luke, a young man with Down’s Syndrome who is forced to live in a care home following the death of his mother, despite the fact that he has clearly been caring for her for years. After an initial period of resentment Luke starts to forge unlikely friendships both in and outside of the home, and things even take a turn for the metaphysical as Luke discovers a mute wild girl in dire need of his help! She has been injured by a fox trap and Luke nurses her back to health in a barn.

Followed by a Q&A session with director Jane Gull and lead actor Steven Brandon.
