‘Touchstone’ Brigid O’Neill – New Album Launch.
An artist continually in forward motion, singer songwriter Brigid O’Neill releases Touchstone’, her first full collection of original songs. Written in both Belfast and Nashville, expect a sweet recipe of country -folk with a delicious dash of blues and jazz, delivered by a full band of some of Ireland’s best musicians.
On Thursday 14th September in the Black Box Belfast, Co. Down singer songwriter Brigid O’Neill will premier her new album ‘Touchstone” – her first full collection of original songs, produced by local singer songwriter Gareth Dunlop.
Just five years ago she went on a songwriting weekend in Rathlin Island “for the craic” when it became glaringly obvious that she truly had a very special talent for writing her own, emotive material. 5 years later she is slowly but surely making a name for herself with Ralph McLean saying “Brigid is great songwriter with a voice that break your heart at 30 paces.” It was with the release of her debut EP ‘Arrivals and Departures’ – and the insistently catchy single ‘Don’t Make Me Go to Town’ – that Brigid began to attract the attention of NI’s discerning music scene, drawn, no doubt, by the sweet recipe of country-folk and blues with a dash of jazz that has become her trademark ‘sound’.
A NI tour will follow with info. and bookings at brigidoneill.com
Brigid is a great songwriter with a voice that can break your heart at 30 paces. She understands the craft of songwriting intuitively and there’s an honesty and integrity in her work that is very special.” Ralph McLean BBC Radio Ulster
Pure M Magazine, ‘adventurous and touchingly beautiful’.
‘……one of those artists who makes everything seem so deceptively easy; with vocals that seem to just float out of her mouth, music that hits the right spots without ever seeming forced or contrived and lyrics that are so simple, quirky even and yet, at the same time, compelling.’ Chordblosom
“Arrivals and Departures….a beautifully produced collection of songs and music that showcases song writing, musicianship and an artist who’s at home with americana and jazz.”
