FUGUE: Anvil: The Story of Anvil (2008)
Please note that this film contains scenes of brief nudity and frequent swearing
Super Rock in 1984 was an epic showcase for some of the greatest rock legends of all time – Whitesnake, Scorpions, Bon Jovi and the headliners….Anvil. This documentary catches up with Anvil’s Robb and Lips in 2007 in snowy Toronto. Things never really took off for them after Super Rock. Nobody really knows what went wrong, but now they’re working at manual jobs and gigging in broom cupboards to nobody. A superfan encourages them to undertake a European tour – follow them and see if they can get back to their glory days. A must watch for heavy-metal fans, anyone who loves a buddy movie or a tale of an underdog! The Times called it ‘possibly the greatest film yet made about rock n roll’
Starring – Slash, Lemmy, Lars Ulrich, Anvil
Director – Sacha Gervasi
If you liked – Spinal Tap, The Terminal
