A Question of Attitude: panel discussion on how we understand equality – divisive and irrelevant or better for us all?

Equality is an important political and societal issue and is often in the headlines. This interactive session will examine how equality is understood from a range of perspectives and what the current debates about equality in Northern Ireland say about our society.

The findings of the Equality Commission’s most recent Equality Awareness survey on social attitudes and public perception of equality issues on how people in Northern Ireland see equality, prejudice and each other provide an interesting background.

Local comedian Tim McGarry will start the event with an irreverent look at equality in ‘Norn Iron’ before handing over to our panel of commentators, chaired by leading journalist Mark Carruthers. Audience participation will be encouraged! Sandwich lunch with tea/coffee provided
